Collect

Confirmed

Provide a random urine sample at the selected Quest location for test 92771. Use a preservative-free collection cup, then transfer an aliquot with the supplied transfer device into a preservative-free specimen tube. The preferred volume is 2 mL, minimum 1.5 mL. Label the tube and store and transport refrigerated with cold packs. The laboratory lists seven-day stability at room temperature or refrigerated and 28 days frozen, but specifies refrigerated transport. Specimens other than preservative-free urine are rejected. This is not a 24-hour collection or a mailed home kit. No fasting or fixed collection time is required. Provide a random urine sample and follow the collection site's instructions. Keep testing conditions comparable when tracking change and report recent smoking, which can raise the result.

The balance

The Strengths. The Tradeoffs.

Strengths

  • Online ordering includes the required laboratory order through Mito.
  • Measures urine F2-isoprostanes and creatinine and reports their calculated ratio to account for urine concentration. These are two measured components plus one derived ratio, not three independently measured biomarkers. Albumin, an albumin/creatinine ratio and a broad kidney panel are not included.
  • Results are delivered to the Mito dashboard after laboratory processing.

Watch-outs

  • Available in 47 states and Washington, DC. Not currently available in NJ, NY or RI.
  • Quest Diagnostics test 92771, for 47 states and Washington, DC, excluding NJ, NY and RI: $157.39 without membership or $112.42 with optional $9 monthly membership, plus a separate $15.00 order fee.
  • Membership is optional. The final checkout total, cancellation and refund terms remain unverified.
  • No product-specific result time has been verified.
  • The ratio is an oxidative-stress marker, not a diagnosis of cardiovascular disease, cancer or any other single condition. It does not establish that supplements or another intervention are needed. Interpret changes with your clinician and the collection conditions.
  • No fasting or fixed collection time is required. Provide a random urine sample and follow the collection site's instructions. Keep testing conditions comparable when tracking change and report recent smoking, which can raise the result.
  • Results appear in the Mito dashboard after laboratory processing. A personalized action plan requires membership; live consultations cost extra.
  • This test is marked HSA/FSA eligible. Your plan determines individual eligibility and reimbursement.
