Privacy Policy

Last updated · Draft for legal review. Not yet reviewed by an attorney.

Plain-language summary

Labbrary collects little, and this draft policy aims to keep it that way. In short:

  • Browsing the site does not require an account, a name, or an email.
  • Quiz answers and saved shortlists live in your own browser's storage unless you ask for an email copy.
  • Analytics is aggregate, and session replay is excluded from quiz and shortlist paths entirely.
  • Messages you send are kept to respond to them, then retained only as described below.
  • You can ask what is held about you, or ask for its deletion, through the contact page.

Information collected

Labbrary collects information in three narrow situations. First, information you provide directly: a contact message with the name and email you choose to include, or an email address you enter to receive a shortlist. Second, information your browser stores locally on your own device to make features work, described below. Third, limited technical information generated by visiting any website: aggregate analytics events, approximate region derived from network information, and standard server logs.

The platform does not ask for an account, a password, a date of birth, a payment method, or any health information. Quiz questions ask about preferences for a purchase decision, such as budget and sample comfort, and are not treated as medical data.

Quiz and shortlist behavior

The Find My Test quiz runs in your browser. Answers are scored on your device against the public catalog, and the resulting Fit Scores are calculated there as well. Completing the quiz does not create a profile on Labbrary servers, and quiz answers are not transmitted unless you explicitly request an emailed copy of a shortlist.

If you request an emailed shortlist, the email address and the shortlist contents are transmitted for that single purpose, handled as described under Email delivery, and the private link in the email is addressed to you alone.

Local device storage

Labbrary uses your browser's local storage to remember quiz progress, saved shortlists, and small interface preferences. This data stays on your device, is readable only by this site in your browser, and disappears if you clear your browser's site data. It is not used to identify you and is not synchronized to a server.

Email delivery

Emails exist for two purposes in this draft: delivering a shortlist you requested, and optional research updates you subscribed to with explicit consent. Research updates and marketing consent are collected separately, and unsubscribing is available in every message. Email addresses are not sold, and are shared only with the delivery service provider that sends the message.

Analytics

Aggregate analytics measures which pages are read, which features are used, and where the experience fails, so the platform can improve. Analytics data is viewed in aggregate, and Labbrary does not build advertising profiles from it or share it for advertising purposes.

Session replay exclusions

Where session replay tooling such as Microsoft Clarity is enabled to diagnose usability problems, it is configured to exclude the quiz and shortlist paths entirely. Screens where you answer preference questions, view Fit Scores, or manage a shortlist are not recorded, and form inputs across the site are masked from any replay tooling.

Cookies and similar technologies

Labbrary uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies: strictly necessary ones that make the site function, and analytics identifiers as described above. No third-party advertising cookies are set by this site in this draft. Browser controls can block or delete cookies at any time, and the site remains usable with them blocked, though stored preferences will not persist.

Service providers

A small set of service providers process data to run the platform: website hosting, email delivery, and analytics. Providers act under instructions to process data only to deliver their service, and a current list of provider categories is available on request through the contact page.

Data retention

Contact messages are retained while a request is open and for a reasonable period afterward to maintain correction records. Email addresses subscribed to updates are retained until you unsubscribe. Local storage data is controlled entirely by your device. Aggregate analytics is retained in aggregate form. This draft avoids specific retention periods until they are operationally confirmed and reviewed.

Security

Labbrary uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the small amount of data handled, including encrypted connections and access limited to those who need it. No website can promise perfect security, and this draft makes no such promise.

Choices and rights

You can use the platform without providing any personal information. You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of information you have provided by contacting Labbrary; requests are honored to the extent operationally and legally possible, and the response will say plainly what was done. You can unsubscribe from any email at any time, and you can clear local device data through your browser.

Descriptions of jurisdiction-specific statutory rights are deliberately absent from this draft pending attorney review.

Children

Labbrary is intended for adults making purchasing decisions and is not directed to children. The platform does not knowingly collect personal information from children, and a parent or guardian who believes a child has provided information can request its deletion through the contact page.

United States operation and international visitors

Labbrary operates from the United States, and information described in this policy is processed there. Visiting from elsewhere means your information travels to and is handled in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those of your location. Jurisdiction-specific commitments for international visitors await attorney review before they appear here.

Policy changes

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and material changes will be flagged on this page rather than applied silently. Continued use of the platform after a change means the current version applies.
