Plain-language summary
Labbrary is reader supported. The model in one paragraph: some marked outbound links may earn a commission when you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. Those commissions fund the platform's independence from provider sponsorship. They never change a Test Grade, never raise a Fit Score, and never decide what gets covered.
How the model works
When a review or comparison links to a provider with which Labbrary holds an affiliate relationship, that link is marked, and a purchase made through it may earn Labbrary a commission from the provider. The price you pay is the same either way. This revenue is what allows the platform to grade tests without selling placement to the companies being graded.
What commissions never change
- Test Grades. Grading follows the published methodology, and commission rates are never visible in the grading process.
- Fit Scores. The quiz scores your preferences against test facts; commission rates are not an input and cannot raise a score.
- Rankings and comparisons. Order comes from grades, fit, and the facts on the page, never from payout.
- Watch-outs. A commercial relationship has never removed a watch-out, and cannot.
How links are labeled
Outbound provider links carry one of two labels, so you always know which kind you are clicking. The example below uses placeholder text rather than a real test or provider:

Sponsored placements
Labbrary does not currently run sponsored placements. If that ever changes, sponsored content would be labeled as sponsored, visually separated from editorial content, and excluded from editorial rankings, grades, and Fit Score results. A sponsor would never be able to buy a grade, a ranking position, or the removal of a watch-out.
Using the platform without affiliate links
Every review, grade, comparison, and quiz result is available without clicking an affiliate link, and nothing on the platform is gated behind one. You can always reach a provider directly through your own search or a neutral link where one exists. Choosing the marked link is simply a way to support the platform at no cost to yourself.
Coverage does not require participation
Providers do not need to join an affiliate program, or agree to anything, to be reviewed. Tests are selected for coverage editorially, graded with or without the provider's cooperation, and a provider's decision to offer or withhold a commission has no bearing on whether or how its tests are covered.
Corrections regardless of relationship
The corrections route, the verification schedule, and the evidence standards apply identically to every test and provider, with or without a commercial relationship. An affiliate partner's error is corrected the same way, on the same page, with the same public history, as anyone else's.
